Journeys Piano Album 6

Journeys is a six-part series of graded solo piano repertoire written to help learners expand musically and technically into new areas.

Each album contains a wide variety of genres and moods; the series also features music from different cultures around the world. This diversity will encourage the learner to journey into unfamiliar territory, exploring new ideas and learning new musical techniques.

The 10 varied pieces in this volume include two waltzes, unique concert pieces, a modal jazz composition, and a minimalist piece. Its general technical level is fairly advanced, perhaps similar to Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque.

This book is ideal for early advanced players who are looking expand their performance repertoire. Pieces in this book present varied challenges in both technique and interpretation.

Featured Composition: Boston

Boston is a fast-paced jazz improvisation which was inspired by the modal jazz of the 70s and 80s. It should be played with straight quarter notes (quavers).
